Title: Holland take Haven as En-gaines wind

Siobhan Cleeve our Competition Manager organised the Clacton and District Primary School Sports Association's annual High Five Netball Tournament and the competition attracted eight schools and a healthy crowd of mums and dads.  Play was in doubt as the weather, more specifically the gale force wind, threatened to blow the ball backwards in one half and accelerated the ball in the other making play very difficult.  However, all players showed a high level of skill and determination to showcase great competition played in a great spirit.

Eleven year 6 pupils from Tendring's Gifted and Talented Academy travelled to Chelmsford's Sport and Athletics Centre to take part in Essex School Sport Partnerships' first Rising Stars event attended by eleven SSP's.  Each participant took part in three different activities during the day with a number of National Governing Bodies talent spotting and providing quality coaching.  The team also finshed third in the 5 x 80 m relay challenge. Ex International Athlete and current 2012 Legacy Team Lead Jason Fergus also addressed everyone upon presentation of certificates.

We have had a very successful National Schools Sports Week. Leading up to the week Frinton LTC's coaches were delivering taster sessions in local Primary schools, Frinton and St.Philomenas.

As part of Wimbledon week and the National School Sport Week the SSP and Siobhan Cleeve, our Competition Manager, in partnership with Kirby Tennis Club and Frinton Tennis Club took a Tennis Roadshow to primary schools in the Tendring family.  Unbelievably it was rain stopped play as the visit to Kirby Primary School began with a downpour with led to a hastily arranged classroom cross curricular tennis session as well as the planned multi skills delivery in the hall.  By the afternoon it was bright sunshine for Rolph.  Further visits to All Saints and St An
