Harwich Primary Schools' Five a Side Football
Last Thursday saw the annual Harwich and District 5-a-side tournament, which was held at the Harwich School.
The event saw nine teams take part in what was a hotly contested competition which showed a good standard across the board.
Chase Lane managed to retain the trophy for the fourth year in a row with an impressive 100 per cent record in the group stages; winning all of their games without conceding a goal.
The semi finals saw Chase Lane beat Mayflower 2-0 and St Josephs squeeze past Spring Meadow with extra-time and penalties required.
Chase Lane then went on to lift the trophy with a 1-0 win in the final; Harry Windred scoring the winning goal with 2 minutes left to play and Chase Lane managing to keep their record of a clean sheet and victory in every game, thanks in the main to the defensive play of captain Harry Carmichael, the shot stopping of keeper Sam Sims and the midfield play of Franky Selwyn and
Lewis Button.
